Day 1: Planes, trains and automobiles....

We have now arrived at Brazil... It was a good flight for the the most part! We were fed two full meals, watched movies, and could even play games on our personal screens.

Some of us were very surprised by the size of the plane, as it was very large! We flew on a 777. We had to go through more security to catch our connecting flight to Ciudad del Este, Paraguay of which invisible belt gremlins ate pieces from Deanna's belt.

There was some confusion as everything is written and spoken in Portuguese...which no one in our group knows. However after a few detours we made it to our terminal! A cultural difference is they use tractors in place of our luggage cars. You know, the luggage transporters outside around the planes.

As we flew in we first flew over the rural farm lands, which there was a lot of, and then we reached what looked to be the inner city. There was a mass amount of housing and buildings that inhabited the land and some areas that appeared very fancy and others looked like shacks. The city is very large from the air, with so many buildings and very few trees. We are going to board in a few hours so I will update you when we arrive in Asuncion!
